We had our first view of the barn on a sunny Friday in June; the very last day of a two week holiday we had spent in Deux Sevres.

We didn't plan on buying a barn that day, but as soon as we saw the view across the fields we knew we'd found the place we wanted to live.

I must admit that I struggled to see how three bedrooms would fit in the annexe, especially when part of it was going to be demolished, but the plans worked out very well in the end and we're both very happy with the result.
